About The Position
As an Intensive In-Home Specialist, you will work with families for one year after permanency is achieved, providing intensive, in-home support services and monitoring. Your role is key to building a safe, secure, and stable child welfare system while empowering families to thrive.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, or a related field.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Licensure by the Kansas BSRB is preferred (not required).
- Prior experience in children and family services preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide crucial in-home services to children and families
- Attend and participate in court hearings and prepare court reports
- Assess children and family functioning and conduct comprehensive evaluations
- Develop safety plans to address family concerns and ensure stability
- Provide crisis intervention when needed
- Assist parents in finding vital community resources such as housing, healthcare, and more
- Collaborate with courts, DCF, and community partners to support families
- Maintain accurate documentation and client files
- Coach and train staff as needed, ensuring smooth family transitions
