About The Position

The Intensive In-Home Associate Professional (AP) provides direct, structured, and skill-based interventions to children, adolescents, and families receiving Intensive In-Home (IIH) services. The AP works as part of a team-based service model under the supervision of a Qualified Professional (QP) and clinical oversight of a Licensed Professional (LP). Services are delivered in the home, school, and community settings and are designed to prevent out-of-home placement, stabilize behavioral health crises, and improve family functioning. All services must be medically necessary, person-centered, and compliant with NC Medicaid IIH service definition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, OR Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field + relevant experience, OR Associate degree in a human services field + experience
  • Experience must be with MH/DD/SAS population
  • Basic understanding of: Behavioral health disorders, Family systems, Crisis intervention principles
  • Ability to implement structured interventions
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors
  • Ability to document services accurately
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in home/community environments
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Ability to respond effectively to crises
