Two full-time permanent Intensive Family Support Worker positions available, starting on June 29, 2026, working 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in child and youth work or related discipline such as a B.A., or B.S.W. Social Services Diploma, plus at least three to five years successful field experience as a Child and Youth Worker, or a minimum of five years relevant education and special experience or skills.
  • Ability to: communicate openly and honestly with youth, families, staff and supervisor; work autonomously in the community; manage and respond to crisis situations both on the job and through on call support; critically analyze and make independent case decisions; give and take direction; work in partnership with parents and other service providers.
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources and local mental health, educational, housing, child protection, and youth justice systems and services.
  • Must have a solid knowledge base in children’s mental health and could remain current regarding evidence-based or evidence-informed practices.
  • Committed to helping children, youth and families remain intact through a home-based, family preservation counselling approach.
  • Ability to engage children, relate to youth with warmth and understanding, in a nonjudgmental strengths-based approach.
  • Ability to form strong therapeutic alliances with parents and provide creative input in designing the individualized service.
  • Available to work flexible hours to meet client needs.
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required.
