About The Position

Emory Healthcare is seeking a capable Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse / ICU / RN for the Internal Travel Team. This role offers flexibility for work/life balance and involves travel between Emory Healthcare locations. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in patient care, a sound understanding of a particular patient population, and the ability to deliver safe, dependable, and effective care independently. The role requires applying the Synergy Model for Care, effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams, accurate documentation, and utilizing patient/family input in care planning. The nurse will evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans as needed, advocating for patients based on their condition and considering cultural differences.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • 2.5 years of recent experience in Intensive Care Unit within past five years
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, FHM (relevant to role) required.
  • Completion of professional certification in relevant specialty area required within 1 year of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in at least 1 relevant specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations.
  • Delivers safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process.
  • Able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family.
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Documents the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart).
  • Utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care.
  • Evaluates patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate.
  • Recognizes needs and advocates for patient based on knowledge of condition.
  • Recognizes that cultural differences need to be considered in developing patient and family relationships (focus on identifying cultural norms).
