About The Position
The Intensive Care unit (ICU) is a 20 bed critical care unit specializing in neurologic care. Staff working in ICU will encounter a variety of nursing needs from stroke, post-op neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, CRRT to hypothermia. This is a full-time position with 36 weekly hours, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week (7p to 7a) and requires working every third weekend. Support shifts are also required. This role is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus for experienced Critical Care Nurses.
Requirements
- Active Kentucky License
- BCLS Required within 90 days of employment.
- ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.

Responsibilities
- Assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions.
- Establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care.
- Assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems.
- Performs technical aspects of care competently.
- Acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.
