About The Position

The Intelligence Systems Analyst works alongside investigators on difficult and potentially high-severity misuse cases, contributing to analysis and building tools and workflows that help the Intelligence and Investigations team work more effectively. The role combines hands-on software and data work with participation in investigations, including tracing activity across internal systems, querying data, prototyping AI-assisted workflows, improving evidence assembly, and turning recurring investigative needs into durable product capabilities. The analyst collaborates with engineers, analysts, investigators, and subject matter experts. The position requires operational understanding sufficient to contribute to investigations and technical ownership to build solutions that remain useful beyond an individual case. It also requires careful attention to privacy, permissions, evidence handling, and operational safeguards in sensitive investigative work.

Requirements

  • Comfort working directly with investigators, analysts, or other subject matter experts in ambiguous or consequential situations.
  • Practical experience with Python, SQL, and structured or unstructured data.
  • Ability to investigate an unclear problem, follow evidence across systems, and turn findings into a practical next step.
  • Sound judgment about privacy, data access, evidence quality, and the consequences of investigative errors.
  • Interest in using AI systems to extend human investigative capability while keeping expert judgment central.
  • Flexibility to move between coding, analysis, investigative support, and collaboration with technical and operational partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in trust and safety, security, intelligence, investigations, or related domains.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with investigators on complex cases to develop leads, analyze evidence, and identify useful technical approaches.
  • Build and maintain software, data workflows, and internal tools that accelerate investigations of potential high-severity misuse or harm.
  • Use Python, SQL, and internal data systems to gather, connect, and analyze information relevant to investigative work.
  • Apply OpenAI models to research, search, triage, synthesis, and evidence review workflows while keeping expert investigators informed and in control.
  • Turn recurring investigative bottlenecks into reliable tools, automation, and product capabilities for multiple users and cases.
  • Prototype solutions quickly for new investigative questions, then improve their reliability, usability, and maintainability as requirements become clearer.
  • Respect privacy, permissions, evidence-handling requirements, and operational safeguards in sensitive investigative work.
  • Collaborate with teams across Applied, Safety Systems, Research, User Operations, and Strategy when their expertise or systems are needed.
