About The Position

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is seeking candidates for the position of Intelligence Analyst in their Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC). This role involves collecting, evaluating, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing information from various law enforcement databases, camera surveillance, intelligence networks, and geographical information systems. The work is primarily performed in an office setting under general supervision, with performance evaluated through observation and review of completed work. Some field work, including digital evidence collection and camera repair, will be required. This position is responsible for using intelligence to provide timely and relevant information by identifying crime patterns and trends to assist operational and administrative personnel in resource deployment for crime prevention and suppression, aiding investigations, increasing arrests, and solving cases. The analyst will utilize real-time intelligence and camera views to assist responding officers, recommend response codes and routes, and ensure the safety of officers and citizens. The role requires close collaboration with various resources to facilitate the dissemination of criminal analysis data in a live environment, quickly assessing problems, developing plans, and effectively disseminating information. This position is classified as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 8a-4p, but may vary based on agency needs. Staff will also be expected to work a rotating night-shift and on-call schedule.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Audio/Video, Intelligence or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in law enforcement, crime analysis, military police, security analysis or closely related field.
  • Advanced computer skills are required.
  • Ability to work a rotating night-shift and on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes information from law enforcement databases, camera surveillance, Intel networks, and geographical information.

  • Works with law enforcement and staff to analyze confidential information regarding criminal investigations.
  • Provides support to staff with the use of computer-based programs to disseminate intelligence software applications.
  • Works closely with other divisions to analyze crime data information while planning, creating, and implementing strategic methods to reduce crime in the County.
  • Monitors video and camera-based systems and uses analysis to compile and disseminate to intelligence staff.
  • Reviews incident reports and determines criteria for services and law enforcement follow-up.
  • Works closely with stakeholders to explain the Real Time Intelligence Center initiative and for access to existing systems.
  • Performs other related work as required.
