About The Position
The Legal Group protects us against risks and provides the framework for our ethical and compliant global business practices, enabling Lam to effectively navigate the landscape of the semiconductor industry. Their global government affairs team is responsible for advocating on behalf of Lam with public policymakers. Provides assistance in the continued development and implementation of intellectual property protection strategies, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks. Initiates and interprets intellectual property searches and related data; prepares analyses of results related to infringement, validity, and competitiveness. Coordinates the drafting, filing, and prosecution of intellectual property protection applications and maintains all related documentation. Assists internal or external counsel with appeal and interference proceedings.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
- Networks with key contacts outside their own area of expertise.
- Takes initiative to recognize obstacles and develop solutions.
- Determines methods and procedures for new assignments and may coordinate the activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
- Identifies and pursues opportunities for innovation within the discipline or business area.
- Provides informal guidance to less experienced colleagues.
