About The Position

This role involves analyzing Units Under Test (UUT) to understand their functionality, interfaces, failure modes, and test requirements. The engineer will be responsible for developing test requirements, procedures, and detailed test cases for electrical and electronic systems, including designing and implementing fault detection and fault isolation tests. A key part of the role is developing, debugging, and maintaining test set software using VDATS, and supporting the design, development, and validation of Interface Test Adapters (ITAs). The position requires interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents, and technical specifications, as well as troubleshooting hardware and software issues during test development and execution. Collaboration with systems, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams is essential, along with documenting test methods, results, failures, and corrective actions. The role also includes supporting verification, validation, and qualification activities, and leading/participating in design reviews for test software, ITA designs, test fixtures, and UUT test strategies. Reviewing electrical schematics, interface control documents, software design descriptions, test procedures, and requirements documentation is also part of the responsibilities. The engineer will create and maintain test plans, test procedures, test reports, fault isolation documentation, and design review packages, documenting test software design, configuration, version history, validation results, and known limitations. Communicating technical findings, risks, design concerns, and recommended corrective actions to engineering and program stakeholders is crucial. Finally, the role involves performing test software debugging, writing procedures, writing test reports, performing software and hardware troubleshooting, and providing production support for root cause analysis.
