About The Position

As a Systems Engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, BYG-1 Integration Team, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, developing, and integrating a custom Linux-based Operating System for U.S. Navy submarine combat systems. In this role, you will leverage technologies such as Ansible, Kubernetes, custom scripting (Bash, Python), virtual machine development, and cybersecurity practices to deliver a secure and mission-ready platform that empowers warfighters with cutting-edge capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards.
  • Clear understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
