About The Position

The Integration Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the creation of a technology architecture framework and providing technical leadership in support of the organization’s initiatives in on-prem & cloud computing by leveraging both on-prem and cloud integration services and automation and ensuring public and private services and solutions are architected and designed optimally for cost, functionality, reliability, and resiliency. The Architect will also be responsible for implementation and delivery utilizing the standards in the organization's Enterprise Integration strategy along with the introduction of new emerging technologies and public cloud services, API services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategies. The Architect will work with development teams and other stakeholders and provide architecture leadership and best practices as well as drive and enable the migration and refactoring of on-premises applications to cloud native design and deployment methodologies.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position or performing duties closely related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position.
Minimum of 7 years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network and storage management, software application solution architecture, design or development, middleware, database management or operations
Minimum of 3 years of experience with cloud technologies and platforms such as SAP, Tableau, SAP PI/PO, BizTalk, HANA API, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
A minimum of three years supervisory or leadership experience.
Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers and emerging computing trends
Deep knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
Deep knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems as well as knowledge of key business applications, functions, and processes
Willingness to instruct and coach in a cloud training program as needed
Ability to interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee and/or supplier resources
Experience in creating a cloud strategy and coordinate adoption and implementation
Knowledge and Understanding of Cloud Native Development
Micro Services architecture
Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker etc.)
Automation Framework and Tools (RPA, Low Code etc.)
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture and application development methodologies
Relevant Design and Development experience
Analyzing and defining technical requirements & design specifications
Object oriented programming (ABAP, .NET Core/C#, Java/C/C++ etc.), domain driven design
Database Design (RDBMS-MS-SQL, SAP HANA, and NoSQL)
Creating Production Grade software solutions using Enterprise Design Patterns and Non-Functional Requirements
Web-based solutions (ReactJS, Angular JS, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery etc.)
Integrating complex multi-tier systems
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM – JIRA etc.) and toolsets (git, Bamboo, Jenkins, TFS, Ansible etc.)
Building CI/CD pipeline for the Application
Troubleshooting - Debugging, Performance profiling and optimization
Agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum
Creating Architecture/Design documents (HLD/LLD) with models, system diagrams / UML
Evaluating software trade-offs and risks to successful project completion
Evaluating & selecting software framework for a solution
API Design and development
Hands-on Experience with Azure, SAP Cloud platform implementation
IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing & firewalls, including strong working knowledge of cloud pattern best practices
Cloud Security experience in the areas of Identity and Access Management, Infrastructure Security, Data Security and Application Security e.g., Security Groups, IAM policies, NACLs etc.
Establishing and managing file and object storage (SAN, NAS etc.)
Data archiving, backup, and disaster recovery to the cloud.
Building, changing, and managing cloud environments via Infrastructure as Code development.
Knowledge and experience with requirements gathering techniques, including information requirements, report requirements, etc.
Knowledge of data and application testing approaches and techniques.
Workshop facilitation techniques (e.g., requirements, design)
Project management and governance techniques
Data-driven decision-making approaches
Business Process Re-engineering (and/or related e.g., Six Sigma, etc.)
Business Process Modeling/Mapping

Nice To Haves

At least one professional certification in specific job-related disciplines preferred in addition to the requirements above.
Gas or Electric utility experience
Experience working in large public or private-sector organizations
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP Utilities Solutions (ERP, CRM, EAM/WAM et al).
Demonstrated knowledge of Electric Grid Solutions such as ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System), EMS (Energy Management System), AMI/MDM (Advanced Metering Infrastructure/Meter Data Management), Intergraph GIS (Geographical Information System)
Demonstrated knowledge of Gas Utility Operations solutions such as ESRI GIS, Gas SCADA, Gas Management System, Meter Reading Systems etc.
Knowledge of fundamentals of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning etc.), Block Chain etc.
Ability to assess emerging business & regulatory changes and articulate how these can positively impact the Company.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate deep subject matter leadership of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
Manage the development and implementation of Integration strategy, develop the architecture governance framework, and define architecture foundations
Define integration standards, DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tool chain and Standard Operating Environment (SOE)
Define, implement, and enforce the Enterprise Integration standards, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Standards, Business Process Integration (BPI) standards, and associated tools/platforms/frameworks for the organization’s application portfolio, in coordination with IT-wide efforts and Technology Architecture and Planning
Drive Proof-of-Concepts and implementation, with hands-on involvement as subject matter expert (SME) for new SOA items: build deployment automation pipelines, build automated next gen CI/CD pipelines partnering with development teams, build and integrate new technologies like containers enabling multi-cloud and preventing cloud provider lock-in
Define and execute the Enterprise Integration strategy for public and private cloud migrations and on-premises evolution, in alignment with overall IT strategy and directions
Define and enforce Integration architecture best practices: availability; redundancy schemes, performance, Disaster Recovery, DB, and Interfacing Systems, etc.
Act as a SME to the organization for the organizations on-prem and cloud end-to-end architecture, including SAP, Azure platforms, SuccessFactors, HANA API etc. networking, provisioning, and management
Develop a library of deployable and documented design patterns, based on the organization’s application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc. and how they are applicable to the organizations cloud strategy and roadmap
Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and other cloud services
Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks
Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications and that are appropriate for business and technology strategies
Communicate functionality that reliably moves messages/data among endpoints
Support fundamental web and web services standards
Design Functionality that dynamically binds consumer and provider endpoints
Message validation, mapping, transformation, and enrichment
Orchestration Support for multiple interaction patterns, content-based routing, and typed messages
Consultation: Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment
Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with Business and Application Development to size and manage scope and risk as well as regularly communicate project health and identifies risks to project and program stakeholders, sponsors, and management
Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operation
Mentoring: Act as the coach and mentor to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks including mentoring on cloud standards, frameworks etc. as well as will be a key enabler of the organizations cultural change for cloud adoption
Develop a cohesive team and ensure their continued success
Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems
Conduct product work reviews with team members
Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members and leaders across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements
Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts
Proactively Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems
