Integration Engineer

Hudu
$80,000 - $120,000

About The Position

Hudu is a fast-growing SaaS platform built exclusively for IT professionals and Managed Service Providers (MSPs). We give teams a single, secure, and beautifully simple place to store, organize, and share everything that keeps modern IT environments running: passwords, network documentation, processes, assets, client knowledge, and more. By replacing scattered spreadsheets, outdated wikis, and a dozen disconnected tools with one unified, customizable solution, Hudu helps thousands of IT teams save time, reduce risk, deliver better service, and scale with confidence. We're seeking an Integration Engineer to join our core team, focused on building and maintaining the connections between Hudu and the tools MSPs and IT teams already rely on — PSAs, RMMs, and identity providers. You'll help design, test, and implement integrations that sync company, asset, and ticketing data across systems, while also contributing to our core billing and platform infrastructure for self-hosted and cloud-hosted environments. The primary focus of this role is back-end programming with deep REST API and auth work; front-end experience is also desired.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred, or equivalent education/experience
  • 4+ years of experience as an Integration Engineer, Backend Engineer, or in a similar software engineering role
  • Strong fundamentals in Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  • Depth working with REST APIs — consuming, integrating, and troubleshooting third-party APIs, not just building them
  • Fluency with OAuth and other authentication/authorization flows
  • Experience designing and maintaining background job systems (Sidekiq or similar), including diagnosing performance issues at scale
  • Advanced experience in PostgreSQL (or similar), Vue/React and JavaScript, and Dockerized environments
  • Extensive experience with Local and Wide Area Networks
  • Proficient in Git for version control
  • A performance-at-scale mindset — comfortable reasoning about throughput, latency, and failure modes as integration volume grows
  • Fluent in English, oral and written, with excellent collaboration and time-management skills — able to give and receive feedback, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a team setting

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with any of our actual integration partners — ConnectWise, Autotask, Halo, NinjaOne, Datto RMM, Microsoft Graph, etc.
  • MSP domain knowledge: understanding of PSAs vs. RMMs, M365/Google tenant concepts, and company/asset mapping. Candidates from the MSP/IT-management ecosystem (ConnectWise, Kaseya, Datto, NinjaOne, etc.) will ramp up significantly faster.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain integrations with third-party platforms (PSAs, RMMs, identity providers) via REST APIs
  • Implement and troubleshoot OAuth and other auth flows across multiple integration partners
  • Design and debug background job processing (Sidekiq) for sync jobs at scale — including diagnosing flaky or slow jobs under real production load
  • Write/test code for back-end operations, monitor architecture performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Implement new features and integrations, and help improve existing ones
  • Perform systems analysis to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer
  • Revise, repair, or expand existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new integration partner requirements
  • Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes
  • Compile and write documentation of program development and revisions, including code comments so others can understand the program
  • Consult with and assist computer operators or system analysts to define and resolve problems in running computer programs
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI coding tools as a core part of your daily development workflow, not occasional or exploratory use
  • Able to speak concretely to how AI tools have changed your workflow: what you use them for, where you trust them, and where you don't
  • Skilled at prompting, reviewing, and correcting AI-generated code; you treat AI output as a first draft that needs scrutiny, not a finished product
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate integration-specific work: parsing third-party API documentation, generating test fixtures from partner API responses, scaffolding new integration endpoints, or debugging sync issues
  • Track record of adopting new AI-assisted engineering practices as they emerge, rather than sticking to pre-AI habits

Benefits

  • Health Insurance
  • 401k plan with company matching
  • Paid time-off
  • Flexible work hours
  • Work Life Balance
