About The Position

Responsible for the architecture of integrations between applications and services, providing enterprise solutions through the design, modification, development, and implementation of complex fundamental functionalities, following best practices in a heterogeneous environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing enterprise applications in distributed environments.
  • Developing applications in JAVA.
  • Developing components for scalable architectures using J2EE application servers such as WebSphere Application Server, JBOSS, SCA, WSDL, BPEL, Web Services Engines, CSS, XHTML, HTML, AJAX, XML, HTTP, JSF, Restful, JSON, XLST, WS- or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Extensive experience in object-oriented programming analysis and design, and design patterns.
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX/AIX/Linux.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, with experience in creating, modifying, and analyzing queries, views, and stored procedures, applied in databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Basic knowledge in the development of web applications and services using C#, with experience in their deployment and configuration of Microsoft Information Services (IIS).
  • Experience with development tools/IDEs such as IBM Integration Designer (IID) and IBM Websphere Integration Developer (WID).
  • Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS), including its operation in high availability environments.
  • Experience with Websphere Process Server, Websphere Enterprise Services Bus, Websphere Datapower.
  • Excellent communication skills and at different levels within the organization.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously by setting priorities.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in Six Sigma or other process improvement techniques or methodologies, preferred.
  • TOGAF 9.2 Certification is preferable, as well as other related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, designs, develops, and implements primary, infrastructure (middle-tier), and common enterprise-level services.
  • Creates proof of concepts and implementations of new methodologies, integrations, and processes.
  • Manages business processes to identify common services, thereby reinforcing developments according to established guidelines.
  • Documents all services or solutions worked on, from analysis to implementation, and monitors their performance to proactively detect efficiency improvements.
  • Defines the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology service decisions in line with business objectives and strategic projects.
  • Responsible for defining processes, complying with established service levels, and following standards, frameworks, and guidelines related to the integration service lifecycle and the Enterprise architecture.
  • Participates directly in the governance process to review specific solutions to ensure that established frameworks and standards are properly leveraged.
  • Analyzes alternative solutions to organizational problems according to expert judgment and cost-effectiveness for the group's companies, including but not limited to, third-party 'out of the box' solutions, internal development, and third-party development.
  • Acts as a mentor and provides support to integration and development team members on existing technology services and evaluation of new solutions related to application integration to ensure compliance with best practices, standards, and existing industry and/or architectural guidelines.
  • Works in conjunction with internal clients, analysts, and the development team to identify/design/implement business processes with the goal of improving operational efficiency while maintaining their efficiency, consistency, and integrity, using disciplines such as EAI, SOA, and BPM.
  • Participates in the necessary due diligence to acquire new commercial software packages or applications, evaluating all integration capabilities contained within the established methodology in the operational procedure.
  • Monitors technological trends to identify opportunities and capabilities in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Business Process Management (BPM).
  • Supports the infrastructure group in the installation, configuration, and tuning of products that support integration, such as Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and WebSphere Process Server (ESB).
  • Assumes responsibility and ownership of proposed solutions and ensures that the results align with what the business or company operation needs and expects.
  • Complies with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their role, both for their department and for the company in general.
  • Participates in other strategic projects as required and/or performs other related technical tasks as necessary.
