About The Position

L3Harris Space Systems Sector, within the Space and Mission Systems Segment, is seeking an experienced SI&T / SW I&T Sr. Specialist to support spacecraft integration and verification activities at our Palm Bay, FL site. This is an on-site role supporting the integration, verification, and validation of complex space systems. The selected candidate will lead and support system integration and test activities across the full product lifecycle, including requirements analysis for testability, test architecture development, integration planning, verification execution, anomaly resolution, and production support. This role is responsible for developing and executing test plans, procedures, and integration flows for spacecraft RF subsystems, lower-level assemblies, payload interfaces, and end-to-end Space Segment testing. Responsibilities also include coordinating integration activities for test beds, hardware/software-in-the-loop environments, and software simulators developed internally and by subcontractors. The Sr. Specialist will define and implement verification strategies, support requirements traceability and compliance, evaluate subsystem and system-level performance, and work cross-functionally to resolve technical issues discovered during integration and test. This position requires close collaboration with systems engineering, software engineering, mission, payload, quality, and operations teams, as well as external partners, to ensure technical readiness and successful execution of system-level integration and verification objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in complex system integration, spacecraft or aerospace test environments, and execution of structured verification and validation processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 2+ years of flatsats and simulators experience
  • 2+ years with Bus Hardware/Software integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to secure and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on aerospace and defense systems, including space payloads, spacecraft buses, ground systems, and environmental testing.
  • Experience with COSMOS, Ruby, InControl, or other satellite telemetry, tracking, and command/telemetry tracking and control (TT&C) scripting tools or languages.
  • Experience with hardware and software requirements testability, requirements definition, block diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience using DOORS and/or MBSE tools such as Cameo and MagicDraw.
  • Experience with automation and scripting languages such as Java, Python, and Perl.
  • Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and source control tools.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment, including modems, emulators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power sensors, in support of integration, verification, and system performance evaluation

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the integration and testing of lower-level assemblies through subsystem and payload-level verification
  • Develop system test documentation, including Test Requirements Documents, Test Design Documents (TDDs), and test plans and procedures
  • Support and direct personnel in the execution of system testing and integration readiness activities for space payloads and/or space vehicles
  • Develop and execute functional, performance, and qualification test procedures, and document results to verify compliance with program requirements
  • Support test configuration setup, script development, test procedure development, implementation, checkout of test racks and test set software, and evaluation of analysis tools, as required
  • Identify, document, track, and help resolve test and integration issues through closure
  • Analyze test results, identify anomalies, and collaborate with development teams to determine root cause and support corrective actions
  • Represent SI&T in major technical reviews, including SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
  • Work extended and weekend hours, as needed, during critical SI&T phases of the program
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, and Software Engineering, during requirements analysis and verification planning, including development and maintenance of the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM)
