About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Integration and Test Engineer in Virginia Beach, VA for an 11-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The Test and Integration Engineer will support the installation, configuration, integration, and testing of software-intensive systems. This role includes developing and executing test plans, validating Windows and Linux environments, testing microservice architectures and web interfaces, verifying PostgreSQL data, and coordinating defect resolution with software developers and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of systems integration or test engineering experience.
  • Experience executing tests across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience testing microservice architectures.
  • Experience validating databases using PostgreSQL.
  • Basic SQL knowledge.
  • Experience testing web-based user interfaces.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans.
  • Experience installing and configuring software components.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Ability to document, track, and report software defects.
  • Ability to coordinate with software developers, technical leads, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Virginia Beach, VA.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace or defense integration and test experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with U.S. Navy training systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of Joint Semi-Automated Forces, JLVC Analysis Workstation, or Joint Simulation Bus.
  • VMware virtualized-environment experience.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute system and software test plans.
  • Install and configure software components.
  • Perform integration and test activities across Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Test microservice-based applications and web interfaces.
  • Validate system data using PostgreSQL and SQL.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, document, and track system defects.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with software developers and technical teams.
  • Communicate test status, risks, and results to program stakeholders.
  • Support system verification, regression testing, and readiness activities.
  • Maintain accurate test records and defect documentation.
