About The Position

This course provides an introduction to the elements and skills of the four art strands presented in the Primary/Junior Ontario Curriculum, and the essential role of creativity in student development. In addition to exploring effective planning, instruction, and assessment in the arts, this course will model hands on, inclusive, and equitable practices that develop creative, performance, and analytical skills in the arts. This course will introduce models and theories of cognition and motivation that will support teacher candidates as they develop the skills to teach in innovative and creative ways through integrating the arts.
