About The Position

The IPM Technician is responsible for executing and managing all pest and disease prevention strategies within the cultivation facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining plant health, product safety, and regulatory compliance by overseeing all pesticide applications and integrated pest management protocols. Reporting to the Director of Cultivation, the IPM Technician ensures all treatments are applied safely, effectively, and in full compliance with state, local, and federal regulations and company SOPs.

Requirements

  • Experience with pesticide application, IPM programs, or agricultural spraying preferred
  • Knowledge of pest identification and plant health diagnostics is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with cannabis regulations (or willingness to learn quickly)
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy
  • Ability to follow strict SOPs and safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Perform all pesticide applications including foliar sprays, root drenches, and other treatment methods
  • Apply biological controls such as beneficial insects as part of the IPM program
  • Ensure proper mixing, dosing, and application techniques in accordance with product labels and SOPs
  • Utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during pesticide handling and application in accordance with product labels, safety guidelines, and company SOPs
  • Maintain strict adherence to all applicable state, local, and federal regulations governing pesticide use
  • Accurately document all applications, including product used, batch information, timing, and dosage
  • Ensure all pesticide use aligns with approved materials and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of all pesticides and application materials in compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal regulations and company SOPs
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify pests, pathogens, and plant health issues
  • Track and report pest pressure trends and treatment effectiveness
  • Communicate findings and recommend treatment adjustments to management
  • Execute sanitation protocols to prevent contamination and pest outbreaks
  • Maintain clean application equipment and properly store all pesticides and materials
  • Support facility-wide biosecurity efforts
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE use, to maintain a safe and contamination-free work environment
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of pesticide applications and scouting reports
  • Ensure all records meet compliance and audit standards
  • Assist in preparing documentation for inspections or audits
  • Work closely with cultivation teams to coordinate treatment schedules
  • Provide guidance on IPM best practices to cultivation staff
  • Assist with general cultivation activities as needed, including plant maintenance, harvesting, post-harvest processing, trimming, and packaging
