About The Position

The Integrated Medicine Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse, supporting licensed professional nurses in maintaining a safe environment and reducing risk of harm. The technician collects vital information and reports it to the nursing team to support patient assessments and identify changes in condition. The role promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment and may include serving as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nurse supervision and promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living; perform vital signs, intake and output, fall and pressure-ulcer prevention, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as requested.
• Collect clinical data and report changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assist the nurse with patient and family education.
• Document patient care activities using correct medical terminology.
• Act as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are available to meet patient needs.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in professional development.
