About The Position

Zurich North America is seeking a strategic and dynamic Integrated Communications Lead to join our Communications team. This new role will report directly to the Chief Communications Officer for Zurich North America and will be based in our Schaumburg or Chicago office. We're seeking a seasoned communications leader to drive a business focused integrated communication strategy across Business to Business (B2B) communications, including digital content, media relations, events and analytics. This role is pivotal in shaping our customer-centric narrative, amplifying our voice across channels, and ensuring our communications strategies are tightly aligned with business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a deep familiarity with the commercial insurance sector and key vertical industries that Zurich works with including Construction, Energy, Technology, Financial Services and Professional Services. The Integrated Communications Lead will design and lead a fully integrated communications strategy aligned with business unit’s growth goals. The Lead will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing to align messaging and audience engagement. It will be important for the Lead to cultivate strong relationships with business, innovation, insurance and vertical industry media press. A core duty will be development and delivery of creative B2B content across digital platforms: earned, paid, social, and owned media and proactively pitch stories and respond to media inquiries. An important part of this role will be to develop robust analytics dashboards to assess communications performance and guide strategic refinements. The selected Lead will manage and develop a team of four or more communications professionals to cultivate commercially impactful programs and serve as a trusted voice in the use of strategic communications to drive business results including B2B positioning, executive visibility, and thought leadership. The lead will be tasked with advancing the organization's digital footprint with data-driven digital storytelling efforts that resonate with brokers, commercial clients, and industry influencers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Marketing area to include strategic communications, with experience in B2B and regulated or complex industries.
  • Experience in brand management
  • Knowledge of business concepts and application of data analytics to drive marketing strategies
  • People management experience or leadership experience
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Proven success in integrated communications, marketing and digital communications leadership.
  • Strong experience in data analytics and performance measurement in communications.
  • Skilled media relations practitioner with a track record of national or trade media placements.
  • Deep understanding of the commercial insurance landscape or adjacent sectors preferred.
