About The Position

We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Engineer with both broad and deep cloud implementation and migration experience with a focus on complex multi-cloud and hybrid environments to join our team and serve RSM clients in a variety of industries and geographic locations. The successful candidate will have solid working knowledge of cloud, understanding of cloud architecture models, cloud technology trends, design and innovation as well as experience leveraging this knowledge to benefit global organizations. This role is responsible for leading multiple team engagements simultaneously, including several threads of complex implementation and migration engagements. In addition, this individual will be responsible for working with industry leading cloud providers and technology vendors and championing the cloud practice throughout the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 6+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with popular cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with private, public and hybrid cloud deployments
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external resources at all organizational levels

  • Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to speak about technology in the language of business
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and related technologies, including: AWS architecture and core services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon VPC, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS/Aurora, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, and Amazon EKS, with the ability to design solutions aligned to enterprise scalability, availability, and resiliency requirements.
  • AWS landing zone design and implementation, including AWS Organizations, multi‑account strategy, networking, identity, and governance foundations to support secure, scalable enterprise environments.
  • Identity and security capabilities, including AWS IAM, IAM Identity Center (SSO), service control policies (SCPs), encryption using AWS KMS, Secrets Manager, and alignment with security and compliance frameworks.
  • Hybrid and multi‑cloud integration, leveraging services such as AWS Direct Connect, Site‑to‑Site VPN, Client VPN, and integration with on‑premises infrastructure or third‑party cloud platforms.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation, using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tooling to support repeatable, auditable deployments.
  • Migration and modernization experience, including assessment, planning, and execution of AWS migrations using tools such as AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service (MGN), and Database Migration Service (DMS), with exposure to application refactoring, re‑platforming, and cloud‑native design patterns.
  • Operational excellence and cost management, including monitoring and observability with Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Config, AWS CloudTrail, backup and disaster recovery strategies, and cost optimization using AWS Cost Explorer and FinOps principles.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently speaking with knowledgeable clients on the topic of cloud strategy, architecture, workload migration planning and common security practices such as landing zones
  • Acting as trusted advisor to senior technology leaders on cloud engineering activities
  • Identifying and building cloud-based solutions to drive growth in project-based and managed services
  • Developing cloud strategy for clients that includes cloud value framework, multi-cloud strategy, and cloud program office to drive cloud transformation.
  • Developing application rationalization approaches to create cloud migration roadmap
  • Designing, architecting, implementing and supporting simple to complex enterprise cloud solutions for a variety of business use cases and requirements.
  • Guiding and mentoring clients through the entire process
  • Providing principal engineering support to various teams throughout a client’s digital transformation to a cloud native organization.
  • Spearheading strategic cost optimization initiatives, achieving multi-million-dollar savings through infrastructure cleanups, license negotiations and dynamic scaling.
  • Understanding common cloud deployment models (private, public, hybrid) including platform types (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
  • Executing solution delivery engagements for both small and large cloud environments
  • Eminence building in the cloud industry through frequent publishing and speaking on relevant topics
  • Experience working in pre-sales or partnering with a go-to-market team to provide solutions
