About The Position

Under close supervision, this position will gain hands-on experience supporting transportation brokerage operations. This role gains exposure to market dynamics, carrier negotiation strategies, and tools used to deliver efficient solutions. This role learns about establishing a carrier base and attaining optimal margins while delivering best-in-class service execution. Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry. Become involved and participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement to uphold service expectations. Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and contribute to revenue and margin goals. Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers: gain competence in how service failures are proactively communicated to minimize cost and operational inefficiencies while providing best-in-class service. Learn about the technology and tools J.B. Hunt leverages to streamline workflows, enable carrier access to load management, and promote efficiency.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week during the school semester.
