The Integrated Behavioral Health Social Worker provides psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, brief evidence-based interventions, and ongoing support for oncology patients and others across the hospital. The role addresses needs ranging from coping, treatment adherence, and behavior change to same-day behavioral health concerns and crisis situations while connecting patients and families with appropriate resources. Working closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, behavioral health professionals, and other care team members, this position integrates behavioral health into coordinated, patient-centered medical care. The work requires managing an outpatient caseload alongside timely documentation, psychosocial screening, regulatory and Commission on Cancer requirements, education, consultation, and responsiveness to changing patient needs. In addition to direct patient care, this social worker helps develop and improve the Integrated Behavioral Health model through interdisciplinary initiatives, workflow improvement, community outreach, and ongoing quality improvement.
