About The Position

Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 145-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50-bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. We offer compassionate patient care to those who need it the most, serving not only local patients, but also those located across the country. The Intake RN, under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

Requirements

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Valid GA State RN license

Responsibilities

Receive and document physician orders as it pertains to admissions and/or patients in intake.
Provide appropriate medical treatment within the scope of practice for an RN.
Document and coordinate external transfers via MOT for patients experiencing a medical emergency in intake
