Intake Registered Nurse - Nights
About The Position
Hendricks Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Assessment Clinician to join their team. This role is crucial in responding to referrals, providing technical assistance to the discharge planning process, and offering general support to the case management program. The Intake Assessment Clinician will document and process inquiry calls, assess and stabilize patients, notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews, obtain administrative approval for admissions, complete admission paperwork, and maintain an intake log. They will also make follow-up calls to no-show patients and demonstrate guest relations by providing counseling to employees in need of training.
Requirements
- A nursing degree from an accredited university is required.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- A working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam.
- Working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
- Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
- Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
- Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
- Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
- Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
- Make follow-up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
- Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees in need of training.
