Intake Registered Nurse - Nights
About The Position
Hendricks Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Assessment Clinician to join their team. This role is crucial in managing referrals, providing technical assistance for discharge planning, and supporting the case management program. The position involves documenting inquiry calls, assessing and stabilizing patients, assisting the on-call doctor with patient interviews, obtaining administrative approval for admissions, completing admission paperwork, maintaining an intake log, and making follow-up calls to no-show patients. The role also involves demonstrating guest relations and providing counseling to employees needing training.
Requirements
- A nursing degree from an accredited university is required.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
- A working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam.
- Working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field.
Responsibilities
- Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
- Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
- Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
- Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
- Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
- Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
- Make follow-up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
- Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees in need of training.
