Intake Registered Nurse (RN) - Monthly Bonus Night Shift
About The Position
Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital is seeking a motivated, dependable, and dedicated Intake Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional direct care and support to patients. This role is responsible for coordinating assessments of incoming patients with A&R Counselors, coordinating provider admission orders, and initiating the admission process. The Intake RN will screen referrals, actively engage in the health care team, offer direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians, and continuously assess the physical and psychological conditions of patients. The position requires utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the hospital's philosophy and values, upholding a safe therapeutic environment, and collaborating as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, and document tailored goals and interventions.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
- Able to produce a valid Washington State RN license.
- A minimum of three years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
- Demonstrate exceptional crisis management and time management skills.
- Flexibility and creativity, with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Calm, organized, and professional demeanor even in the face of stressful situations.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of assessments of incoming patients with A&R Counselors.
- Coordination of providers admission orders and initiation of the Admission process with the Admissions Clerk, and Admissions Clinicians.
- Screen Referrals.
- Actively engage in the health care team, offering both direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
- Assess the physical and psychological conditions of patients continuously throughout their care journey.
- Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of SPBH.

- Collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, actively contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.
