About The Position

Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, referred to as an "Infusion Guide," who is passionate about improving infusion therapy care. This role is crucial for the company's growth, involving detailed referral and intake coordination, and providing excellent customer service to both patients and physicians. The Infusion Guide ensures patients receive the highest standard of care in infusion therapy. This is a Full-Time, onsite position, primarily based in White Marsh, MD, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will have experience reading medical charts and handling insurance prior authorizations. This role offers predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload, making it ideal for those wanting to stay at the forefront of healthcare innovation.

Requirements

  • Passion for Patient Care and Delivering Exceptional Patient Experiences
  • Health Care Experience Required
  • Prior Experience in Infusion is Preferred
  • Insurance Prior Authorization Experience
  • Medical Terminology Experience
  • Overall Medical Insurance Experience
  • Ability to quickly grasp new apps
  • Experience and strong familiarity utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reading medical charts

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigation.
  • Liaise with referring providers to obtain necessary documentation for treatment and communicate patient status.
  • Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric manner.
  • Openly communicate with referring/prescribing providers.
  • Assist in maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
