About The Position

The Attorney General's Office is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Intake Coordinator for the Medicaid Fraud Division (MFD), which is part of the Health Care & Fair Competition Bureau. The MFD is dedicated to identifying and prosecuting fraud against the state's $20 billion Medicaid program. This role involves investigating allegations of fraud against the state Medicaid program, as well as investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of funds in long-term care facilities and from Medicaid members in healthcare settings. The MFD possesses both criminal and civil enforcement authority and collaborates with federal and state law enforcement agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant administrative, legal support, or investigation experience.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to travel within the Commonwealth, as needed; valid driver’s license, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee MFD’s process to receive and review constituent complaints originating from e-complaints, telephone calls, walk-ins from members of the public, and partner agencies.
  • Conduct initial investigation of complaints, including data analysis, witness interviews, and open-source research.
  • Enter data into a computerized case management system.
  • Delegate and assign complaints for review to a team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Make referrals to appropriate government agencies or community organizations.
  • Communicate clearly with members of the public regarding the filing, processing, and assignment of complaint information.
  • Provide investigative and litigation support to attorneys and investigators.
