The Intake Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for intake and referral inquiries within Beacon Behavioral Health. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate documentation and follow-up for all incoming patients and referrals. The coordinator will build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, patients, families, and internal clinical teams. A key aspect of the role involves reviewing clinical information to assist in level-of-care determinations and scheduling assessments within 24 hours of initial contact. The Intake Coordinator must clearly communicate Beacon’s services, including program offerings, admission criteria, regulatory requirements, and insurance considerations. They will also facilitate referrals to community-based or alternative levels of care when admission is not clinically appropriate, and guide patients and caregivers through the admission process. This includes obtaining necessary consents, documentation, and insurance pre-certifications, as well as collaborating with billing teams. The role also involves tracking referral data, providing weekly reports, collecting feedback, and participating in performance improvement activities.
