About The Position

The Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to join their growing team. This role involves guiding patients on their journey of recovery by delivering quality general and psychiatric nursing care to patients hospitalized for psychiatric or emotional disorders. The position supports the hospital's philosophy of care, ensuring patient safety and well-being. Key responsibilities include performing suicide assessments and understanding suicide precautions, identifying and incorporating patient needs into individualized care plans, and maintaining accurate and litigable documentation. The role also involves responding to inquiries about mental health services, collecting and analyzing patient data to determine treatment needs, documenting physician's orders, and maintaining knowledge of legal guidelines related to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.

Requirements

Current Nevada RN License required
Current CPR certification

ADN / BSN or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver quality general/psychiatric nursing care to patients who are hospitalized for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders.
Support the hospital and program philosophy of care and ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.
Perform suicide assessments and understand suicide precautions.
Identify and incorporate each patient’s unique needs into a comprehensive and individualized care plan.
Maintain accurate and litigable documentation that meets current standards and policies.
Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
Through a systematic process of interaction with patients, the patient's significant others, and the appropriate health care providers, collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural and anticipated discharge needs; determine patient's alcohol or drug toxicity; identify signs of withdrawal; conduct screenings or assessments to determine needs of treatment.
Document physician’s phone orders.
Maintain knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.
