Intake Attorney

Quintessa Marketing
Onsite

About The Position

Quintessa Marketing is seeking an experienced, decisive Intake Attorney to support our high-volume personal injury intake operation. This is not a traditional litigation position. The Intake Attorney will sit at the intersection of legal judgment, intake operations, quality control, and client service. The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate potential personal injury cases, provide real-time legal guidance to our intake team, and help ensure cases are appropriately qualified before being signed and delivered to our law firm partners. The ideal candidate understands personal injury law, can quickly identify both strong cases and potential issues, and is comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
  • Personal injury experience strongly preferred, particularly plaintiff-side motor vehicle accident cases.
  • Strong understanding of liability, insurance coverage, bodily injury claims, damages, and case valuation fundamentals.
  • Experience with personal injury intake, pre-litigation, case management, or claims evaluation is highly desirable.
  • Ability to analyze facts quickly and make confident, defensible decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, metrics-driven environment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to balance legal risk with operational efficiency.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with attorneys and non-attorneys.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship is not available at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • This position is ideal for an attorney who is decisive, practical, responsive, and operationally minded.
  • We are looking for someone who doesn't simply identify a problem—they make a decision, explain the reasoning, and help build a process so the organization can handle the situation even better the next time.
  • Quintessa operates at significant scale, and this role requires someone who can combine sound legal judgment with the speed and accountability required in a high-performance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Review potential personal injury cases to determine whether they meet established legal and client-specific criteria.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, causation, insurance coverage, statute of limitations, treatment history, and other factors affecting case viability.
  • Identify potential red flags or additional information required before a case should move forward.
  • Make timely decisions regarding whether potential cases should be approved, declined, or escalated for further review.
  • Assist with complex or unusual fact patterns that require attorney-level judgment.
  • Serve as an accessible legal resource for intake agents, managers, and leadership.
  • Provide real-time guidance when intake representatives encounter questions regarding liability, coverage, damages, jurisdiction, or case qualification.
  • Help intake agents understand the reasoning behind legal decisions so the team continuously improves its ability to identify quality cases.
  • Develop clear guidelines for common scenarios so decisions can be made consistently across the organization.
  • Partner with Intake, Audit, Training, and Operations leadership to maintain high standards for case quality.
  • Review cases when questions arise regarding qualification or accuracy.
  • Identify recurring intake issues and recommend process or training improvements.
  • Help develop and maintain state-specific intake criteria and legal guidance.
  • Stay informed regarding changes in personal injury laws, advertising regulations, ethics rules, and other requirements that may affect intake operations.
  • Assist leadership with compliance questions related to the company's intake and case-acquisition processes.
  • Assist with questions from law firm partners regarding case qualification and intake decisions.
  • Help investigate disputed cases, credits, or quality concerns when attorney review is appropriate.
  • Provide clear documentation explaining legal decisions when necessary.
  • Work with leadership to understand individual law firm criteria while protecting Quintessa's overall standards for case quality.
  • Identify patterns in declined, credited, or disputed cases and recommend solutions.
  • Work with leadership to improve intake questions, scripts, workflows, and qualification standards.
  • Help create attorney decision trees and escalation procedures that allow the intake organization to operate efficiently at scale.
  • Participate in training and continuing education for intake and audit teams.
