Intake and Assessment Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Nights/Weekends
About The Position
Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring a PRN Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN). This role is critical in helping individuals and families access timely behavioral healthcare services while ensuring high-quality clinical assessment and admissions decisions. There also might be times that you will be helping out with the units and leading groups. The new hospital, expected to open in the second half of 2026, will serve children and adolescents, adults, and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare. It will create over 200 new full-time jobs and feature 120 licensed beds, spanning over 88,000 square feet with an activity yard and gym. Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the state of Missouri or Compact
- Experience in behavioral health, assessments, crisis intervention, and admissions preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to work 12 hour shifts
- We are looking for PRNs with availability for evening, overnight, and weekend coverage
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments
- Evaluate patients for appropriate levels of care and admissions criteria.
- Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments
- Coordinate and collaborate for all necessary information with physicians and other staff
