About The Position

Under general supervision of the Director of Academic Advising, the Intake Academic Advisor performs professional-level academic advising and student services to undergraduate students in a centralized advising environment. The incumbent provides front-line intake advising services while exercising independent and professional judgement to assess and respond to complex student needs. This position advises undergraduate students regarding general education, university, and graduation requirements; interprets and applies academic policies and procedures; and delivers high-touch student service in a high-traffic environment. The role supports new and continuing students through intake, orientation, and enrollment-related services, and makes appropriate referrals and academic interventions as needed. The incumbent receives day-to-day operational guidance and functional direction from the Assistant Director of Academic Advising Operations and provides lead direction and training support to student Peer Advisors while collaborating with campus partners to ensure consistent, accurate advising services.
