About The Position

This recruitment is for a Temporary Full-Time Insurance Verifier position through UCI's internal temporary staffing department. The position is located at our Lakewood Medical Center location.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of insurance verification processes, authorizations, and patient financial counseling practices.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling systems, and standard office software applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, outpatient clinic, or medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance plans, and billing procedures.
  • Experience handling patient payments, collections, and insurance-related documentation.
  • Bilingual communication skills and experience working with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, eligibility, and authorization requirements prior to scheduled services.
  • Contact insurance companies and provider offices to obtain and secure authorizations for procedures and appointments.
  • Counsel patients regarding financial responsibilities, collect payments, and explain insurance-related obligations.
  • Perform clerical and front-office support duties including documentation, patient communication, and maintaining accurate records.
