About The Position

We are seeking to hire an Insurance Verification Specialist to join our Finance Team. This individual is responsible for the verification of insurance eligibility, completing financial updates, registering new clients, obtaining appropriate releases and forms, and working as a liaison between finance, medical staff, and the lab.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, with an understanding of Medicaid and Medicare.
  • A deeply held belief in CSS’s recovery-centered mission.
  • Ability to communicate in-person and over the phone with clients who have severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Skill in managing time and meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience with insurance verification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm all client information is current, complete, and accurate.
  • Verify insurance via various payer portals.
  • Update Credible and/or GOSH with any new verified information.
  • Work closely with Case Managers and Receptionists to ensure required documentation is obtained in a timely manner.
  • Complete financial interviews annually for each client.
  • Obtain all relevant demographic and financial information for the client’s record, including copies of their insurance card, income verification, and photo ID.
  • Notify Client Eligibility Specialist with any change in insurance coverage for ACT clients or if a client has moved out of the county.
  • Work as a liaison between the Finance Team, medical staff, and the lab regarding insurance eligibility questions and issues.
  • Register and schedule new clients.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and payments from clients as necessary.
  • Attend training related to payers, processes, and eligibility.
