About The Position

We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a friendly, team-oriented environment. The Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist serves as the first point of contact for our patients, referral sources, and visitors. As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely access to prosthetic and orthotic services by verifying insurance benefits and securing necessary authorizations. The Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist reports directly to the Patient Accounts Supervisor and plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, medical billing, or healthcare reimbursement.
Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial insurance plans.
Understanding of HCPCS coding, ICD-10 coding, and payer allowable guidelines.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage information.
Obtain prior authorizations for prosthetic and orthotic services.
Contact insurance companies to confirm coverage, authorization requirements, and claim status.
Collaborate with clinicians, patient service staff, and billing teams to resolve insurance-related issues.
Accurately document insurance verification and authorization information within company systems.
Monitor and follow up on pending authorizations to minimize delays in patient care.
Maintain knowledge of payer policies and documentation requirements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, payer guidelines, and HIPAA regulations.
