About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Insurance Specialist at the Fields clinic. This role operates Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no night or weekend requirements. The primary duties involve obtaining authorizations for physical therapy services in accordance with established rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

Obtaining all authorizations for Physical Therapy through online insurance sites and through phone calls.
Updating billing alerts and providing final information to PSR’s to schedule patients.
File fax confirmations for insurance authorizations.
Assist with maintaining physical therapy visits within authorization dates and visits provided.
Do correspondence concerning overall insurances, appeals, and retro authorizations.
Problems solve patient’s questions/complaints and forward to customer service if necessary.
Check Jellybeans follow up questions from patients/billing dept/claims.
Provide insurance guidance to patients and providers.
Demonstrate understanding of insurance requirements.
Attend Continuous Improvement classes for changes to insurance requirements in the electronic medical record and individual carrier updates.
Assist with coverage of front desk needs, including check in, scheduling and answering phone calls.
Perform related work as required.
