This role involves submitting requests for prior authorizations for mental health services, explaining patient benefits such as deductibles, co-insurance, share of cost, and copays, and contacting patients for collections of these amounts. The specialist will also be responsible for consistently documenting communication with insurance companies and patients according to departmental policies and procedures, initiating/completing Prior Authorizations with payers as needed, and collaborating with the billing department on patient collections.
