We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Producer to join our Prime small commerical team. This role is responsible for driving new business growth, fostering strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional service to retain and expand our client base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, a passion for networking, and the ability to thrive in a relationship-driven, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, 1 year related experience, and appropriate insurance licensing required OR; Bachelor's degree, participation in Gallagher's Sales Internship Program (GSIP), and appropriate insurance licensing required OR; High School Diploma/GED and 6 years experience with appropriate insurance licensing required
  • Acts independently with minimal direction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to sales.
  • Comfortable with the realities of sales, including highs and lows, and driven by persistence.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of sales experience (flexible for strong candidates).
  • Proven ability to: Prospect and build a pipeline.
  • Handle objections effectively and demonstrate tenacity and grit.
  • Excel in networking settings and build strong client relationships.
  • Retain clients and collaborate with account managers to ensure success.
  • Professional certification preferred (CEBS, CPCU, CIC or ARM)
  • Familiarity with the Chicago market and established local connections

Responsibilities

  • Develop and acquire new business revenue through sales to new and existing clients, with a focus on small to mid-size companies with high revenue potential.
  • Build and maintain a robust prospecting pipeline through networking, client visits, referral sources, industry associations, and agency-hosted events.
  • Prospect, develop, and maintain relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers to identify insurance and risk management opportunities.
  • Actively participate in team sales situations with other producers and support personnel.
  • Provide tailored commercial insurance and risk management solutions to meet client needs while supporting long-term account retention and growth.
  • Manage overall client relationships, supported by account management teams for day-to-day service and policy administration.
  • Collaborate with account managers and carrier partners to ensure seamless renewals, coverage reviews, and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by identifying evolving client exposures and recommending appropriate coverage solutions.
  • Prepare and implement an individual business plan and production budget to achieve new business and revenue objectives.
  • Apply industry technologies and market intelligence to drive new sales, expand existing accounts, and enhance client service.
  • Conduct prospect and client meetings, presentations, and coverage reviews to identify risks and deliver effective insurance solutions.
  • Host and participate in client-facing events, networking functions, industry meetings, and educational seminars to strengthen relationships and generate leads.
  • Assist, educate, and mentor team members in new client sales situations and existing client service requirements.
  • Provide direction and support in account transfer situations.
  • Develop and maintain inter-division and inter-company relationships aligned with the organization's corporate culture and growth strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and carrier partners to deliver comprehensive insurance solutions and exceptional client experiences.
