About The Position

Seeking highly motivated individuals looking for an exciting career in Auto Pricing! We are looking for bright and driven future college graduates to join our Pricing Team at GEICO! Pricing is essential to GEICO’s continued success as one of the nation’s leading auto insurers. Analyst duties consist of determining rate levels for our various insurance products, analyzing and projecting drivers of loss trends, developing and enhancing new insurance products, and much more! Pricing Analysts are motivated, self-driven, and excellent analytical thinkers. You will do more than crunch numbers – you will be active in determining business strategies, educating management on our profitability and projections, and communicating across departments to ensure company success. Your work as a Pricing Analyst will inform a wide range of critical business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study OR Bachelor’s degree in any field of study plus prior experience / internship with quantitative analytics; degree obtained by June 2027.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must live within commutable distance from one of our offices in Bethesda, MD, or Cleveland, OH, and work a hybrid schedule, including working from the office at least three days per week.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Highly effective communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with data analysis software such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI, and/or similar tooling.
  • Ability to work independently, given general direction and to thrive in a team environment that is constantly changing.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely results.
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions.
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience in similar fields or businesses a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare statistical analyses of underwriting or claims experience.
  • Conduct rate reviews.
  • Create filings for a variety of business segments.
  • Build a deep understanding of Auto Pricing at GEICO, including the systems we use and support, as well as data and integration points.
  • Develop and present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groups.
  • Build influencing skills as you partner with business stakeholders to analyze results and recommend future product decisions.
  • Have a direct impact on GEICO’s financial and strategic performance with opportunities to drive innovation and transformation.
