About The Position

Sentara Health Plans is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Insurance Premium Payment Associate! This is a full-time, day shift position with standard working hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday. The position is located at Sentara Park 1300 in Virginia Beach and offers a hybrid work schedule. After successful completion of onsite training (up to 4 weeks), and depending on performance, the position will have the opportunity to work from home 3 days a week. The Insurance Premium Payment Associate responds to record and process telephonic payment inquiries throughout the day in a higher volume call queue environment. This role is responsible for taking both initial and ongoing payments for insurance products while maintaining a high level of customer service. The associate must be able to work in multiple computer programs simultaneously and maintain a high level of service to customers while managing changing volume demands of the call center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-year customer service experience REQUIRED
  • Computer skills & strong verbal skills in English REQUIRED
  • Must have experience in a call center & be detailed-oriented
  • Reliable transportation essential to success in role

Nice To Haves

  • Payment and or Billing experience in healthcare is highly preferred
  • Healthcare environment experience a plus
