About The Position

Servus Credit Union is seeking an Insurance Planning Specialist to join their Servus Wealth Strategies Team. This full-time, in-person role is based in Calgary, Edmonton, or Red Deer. The Insurance Planning Specialist will report to the Regional Vice President, Insurance Services and will be responsible for helping members and employees find the right individual life, disability, and critical illness insurance solutions. They will provide sound advice to protect members' assets and income against unexpected events. Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in Insurance
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate insurance solutions
  • Proven experience in providing detailed and accurate information to third parties
  • Experience with life, disability and health insurance sales
  • Life /Accident and Sickness Insurance License in the Province of Alberta
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or working towards designation

Nice To Haves

  • Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and/or equivalent work experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Helping members uncover and understand the need for insurance, and work with the member to put those insurance solutions in place as part of their holistic financial plan.
  • Be proactive in reaching out to existing policy holders for review, uncovering new needs and retention.
  • Uncover the full financial needs of our members and referring those members to a Financial Advisor, Business Banking Advisor, Financial Planner, and Wealth Protection Specialists.
  • Actively participate and support Retail and Wealth partners – always with a member-centric focus – doing what’s right for the member.
  • Maintain up to date Financial Planning and insurance industry knowledge by participating in training programs/industry courses to upgrade skills, obtain and maintain accreditation and licensing requirements.
