About The Position
An Insurance Payment Poster accurately records, reconciles, and posts payments from insurance companies and patients into a dental billing system. They interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms, apply adjustments, resolve discrepancies, and manage both electronic (ERA) and manual transactions, directly impacting the revenue cycle.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in medical billing, clerical work, or a similar data entry role.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel)
- Familiarity with Dental Practice Management Software.
- Understanding of dental terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and insurance protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle confidential information.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately apply insurance payments, adjustments, and denials (EOB/ERA) to patient accounts.
- Balance daily deposits, electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and checks to ensure accuracy.
- Identify, document, and route claim denials or underpayments for follow-up.
- Enter patient payments and insurance reimbursements into the practice management system.
- Review accounts for accuracy, verify electronic claim transmission, and report discrepancies to management.
