The Insurance Market Conduct Examiner 1 role with the Insurance Department gives you the chance to protect consumers across the state. Requirements
- Successful completion of the Insurance Market Conduct Examiner Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- One year of professional experience in insurance market conduct examinations, insurance company financial examinations, insurance investigations, insurance financial analysis, insurance underwriting, insurance policy review and analysis, insurance claims administration, or insurance sales, and a bachelor’s degree
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Be able to perform essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing examination data calls and other requests for insurance company information
- Apply proper random sampling techniques to gather information from company records
- Examine policy forms, claims, complaints, and other records to assess compliance with state and federal laws
- Help prepare and conduct interviews with company staff to understand business practices
- Assist in reviewing financial and non financial requirements related to mental health parity laws
- Prepare summary reports, review company responses, and support development of exam findings
