About The Position

The Insurance Follow-Up Representative is responsible for achieving follow-up success by proactively managing insurance accounts, resolving outstanding authorizations, and ensuring timely and accurate account updates to support departmental goals and patient satisfaction. The Insurance Authorization Representative will report to the Pre-Authorization Manager and will be responsible for working a set number of claims each day. Claim type may vary from verification to pre-authorization.

Requirements

High School Diploma required
Basic computer skills including but not limited to data entry, email, and internet
Ability to communicate telephonically
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, be detail oriented and organized
Ability to meet multiple competing deadlines
Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities

Meets daily production requirements
Contacts insurance plans to determine the status of prior authorization requests
Understands the verification and submission process
Ensures accounts are accurately updated and documented as they are worked
Updates patient information within applicable databases and systems
Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Achieves expected performance results by producing quality work that meets departmental guidelines and metrics
Performs other duties as assigned
