About The Position

A well-established, minority-owned insurance defense litigation firm serving major insurance carriers and their insureds is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented paralegal to join their team. This remote-first firm offers a mentorship-focused, supportive team culture with clear paths to advancement. The firm handles a variety of cases including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, professional liability, construction and workplace accidents, and New York Labor Law matters. This specific role is based in the New Jersey Division and will handle New Jersey State and Federal court filings. The ideal candidate has experience supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation and is comfortable managing a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in legal studies and/or paralegal certificate required
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense
  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey State court rules, procedures, and e-filing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a high-volume practice
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • NJ / NY Based Required

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and motions
  • Assist with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Gather, review, and summarize medical records, accident reports, and other case-related documents
  • Maintain and organize case files, discovery databases, and document productions
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed
  • Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with filing requirements in New Jersey State and Federal courts
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys
