About The Position

Our client, a well-established and highly respected regional law firm in Florida, is seeking a Civil Defense Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated defense matters in a collaborative, professional environment that values mentorship, long-term growth, and high-quality client service. This position is onsite five days per week and is ideal for an attorney seeking a team-oriented environment with strong leadership and long-term career potential. The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil defense litigation matters and will be comfortable managing cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation. The firm is seeking a motivated attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working as part of a team-oriented culture.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar
  • Prior litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of civil defense litigation procedures and strategy
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Conduct legal research and develop well-supported legal arguments
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
  • Develop litigation strategies and assist with case evaluation and risk assessment
  • Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines effectively
