About The Position

Shearer Companies is seeking an Insurance Coordinator to oversee insurance programs, workers' compensation administration, safety initiatives and regulatory compliance across our family of logistics companies. This is a highly collaborative role that partners with operations, HR, leadership, and insurance vendors to reduce risk, improve workplace safety, and support our employees.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in workers' compensation, insurance coordination, risk management or a related field
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation laws
• Experience managing insurance claims and vendor relationships
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to analyze trends and develop practical solutions
• Comfortable collaborating with leaders across multiple departments

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Occupational Safety or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

• Manage workers' compensation claims from start to finish
• Coordinate return-to-work and light duty programs
• Serve as the primary contact for insurance carriers, brokers, TPAs and vendors
• Monitor insurance programs and identify opportunities for cost savings
• Lead OSHA compliance efforts and maintain required reporting
• Coordinate facility safety inspections and recommend improvements
• Facilitate safety committee meetings and employee safety training
• Analyze claims trends and recommend strategies to reduce workplace injuries
• Support annual workers' compensation audits
• Assist with cargo, warehouse, and client-facing insurance programs
• Partner with leadership to strengthen company-wide risk management practices
