About The Position

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Forest, CA. The role involves managing the complete lifecycle of automotive insurance and GAP claims, including intake, investigation, documentation review, settlement validation, payment reconciliation, and closure. The specialist will review complex or escalated claims to ensure fair and compliant resolution, acting as a primary point of contact between various stakeholders. Responsibilities also include evaluating total loss settlements, analyzing claim documentation for accuracy and compliance, identifying risks, and partnering with insurance providers. The role requires maintaining compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices, managing a high-volume workload with accuracy, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. Additionally, the specialist will serve as a subject matter expert, provide guidance to employees, develop and deliver training programs, and partner with management to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience handling automotive insurance claims, including investigation, settlement review, and claim resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of GAP claims, vehicle valuations, total loss processes, and insurance payment reconciliation.
  • Experience working directly with insurance carriers, adjusters, repair facilities, and third-party administrators.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional business correspondence and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of automotive insurance and GAP claims, including claim intake, investigation, documentation review, settlement validation, payment reconciliation, and final claim closure.
  • Review and oversee complex, high-exposure, or escalated claims to ensure fair, timely, and compliant resolution.
  • Collaborate with leadership to determine appropriate claim resolution strategies and mitigate financial risk.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between insurance carriers, adjusters, repair facilities, customers, lienholders, and internal business partners.
  • Evaluate total loss settlements to ensure accurate vehicle valuation, proper distribution of insurance proceeds, and protection of lienholder interests.
  • Review insurance claim settlements and account adjustments for accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.
  • Analyze claim documentation, settlement calculations, and insurance proceeds to ensure accurate processing and reconciliation.
  • Identify discrepancies, trends, and potential exposure risks while recommending corrective actions.
  • Partner with insurance providers, including State National Insurance and third-party vendors, to facilitate efficient claims handling and resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Successfully manage a high-volume workload of insurance and GAP claims while maintaining exceptional accuracy and service levels.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline claims processes, improve efficiencies, reduce turnaround times, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor workflow adherence and ensure claims are processed in accordance with established procedures and performance standards.
  • Serve as the department's subject matter expert for automotive insurance and GAP claims.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on complex claim scenarios and escalated customer concerns.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to support new processes, system enhancements, policy updates, and evolving claim requirements.
  • Partner with management to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support departmental goals.
