About The Position

The Insurance Case Manager Lead acts as a support to the Insurance Case Management team by teaching training and developing staff members. The Insurance Case Manager Lead serves as a resource to Insurance Case Managers by teaching, training, and developing fellow teammates. They will assist in training and participate in the orientation of new staff members. This role will also assist the department Supervisor in managing workflow, running daily, weekly, and monthly reports. They will be responsible for the timely acceptance and completion of new orders, monthly insurance verifications, and authorization recertifications for existing patients. The role requires an understanding of payor coverage principles and requirements for denial letters. The Insurance Case Manager Lead must communicate with peers, supervisors, and other employees in a non-threatening manner, demonstrate the ability to maintain calm under pressure to cope with a changing environment, and take initiative to present ideas and suggestions to leadership. Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking skills, and servant leadership are essential. The role also requires maintaining knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops, and home study.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of medical insurance case management experience required or equivalent competency.
  • Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource to Insurance Case Managers by teaching, training, and developing fellow teammates.
  • Assist in training new staff members.
  • Participates in the orientation new staff members.
  • Assist the department Supervisor in managing workflow of the team members, running daily weekly, monthly reports
